Juniors and Youth students follow the same syllabus. The only difference between the classes is the age range of students attending. Juniors is aimed at 7-10 year olds and Youth is aimed at 11-17 year olds.

Students coming up from Little Dragons into the Juniors class will be slotted into the Junior syllabus according to their level of progression in Little Dragons. If they have completed all 8 Little Dragon grades, they will come into Juniors at a Junior Grade 4 and attempt Junior Grade 5 at their next grading.

Once Junior and Youth students have completed the Junior/Youth syllabus, they will be invited to attend the Blacksash Masterclass and they will start working towards their Junior Technician grades. If a Youth student reaches their 18th birthday before completing the Youth syllabus, they will be invited to attend the Adult class and will be slotted in at the appropriate level to their grade.
